Harvey Weinstein has been charged with rape and various counts of sexual abuse.
Following months of allegations, Harvey Weinstein turned himself into police in New York city earlier today.
Now the New York Police Department have confirmed Weinstein “was arrested, processed and charged with rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct for incidents involving two separate women”. Weinstein pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. Following his arrest, the 66-year-old agreed to post $1 million bail and wear an electric monitor.
Over 75 women accused the producer of assault, which triggered the #MeToo movement. The movement stemmed a number of accusations against men in Hollywood and called for the end of men in power abusing their positions to exploit men and women.
