Trey Songz won’t face charges in domestic violence case.
Last month, Trey Songz was arrested over domestic abuse allegations made by Andrea Buera. Now it’s being reported that the L.A. District Attorney has dropped the case and will not pursue a felony criminal charge against the singer.
Buera accused the singer of choking and punching her. “I was attending an afterparty when Trey began yelling at me, choking me, punching me, and ultimately he knocked me to the ground,” she claimed. “While I was on the ground, he continued punching me and he did not stop until his security guard pulled him off of me.”
Songz surrendered himself to LAPD but maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal saying he was “being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.” The singers lawyer, Shawn Holley provided numerous witness statements, which contradicted Buera’s account.
The case will now be referred to the L.A. City Attorney who will decide whether to charge Trey Songz with misdemeanor domestic violence.
