The image for the single already turned fans off before the track was released
When the cover for Katy Perry’s new track with Migos released, the internet didn’t really react well. Perry’s dismebodied head on a plate of fruit was a surprisingly low quality image. Especially for a collaboration between two of the biggest acts around. If we were to judge a book by its cover, it wouldn’t say much for the track. Instead we’ve taken a listen.
Usually a collaboration sees an attempt to pull the best out of both artists. ‘Bon Appétit’ lacks what makes Migos and Perry. Migos are relegated to a few adlibs outside of their verses. Their verses are decent and the only time the beat really comes into its own. The rest of the track tries to live off a hook with Perry not doing a lot vocally and lacking a beat to prop it up. Were it a Migos track with a Katy Perry feature, this would probably be a lot better.
