Black Twitter’s first film may be underway all from a meme
A testament to the power of Black Twitter is how much it can get done and how quickly. One offhanded joke can turn into something much bigger. Following a picture of Rihanna and Lupita N’yongo going viral, a film may be in the works. The picture was taken at Paris Fashion Week three years ago and started making the rounds again when a twitter user put the picture up with a caption.

The tweet went viral and reached Lupita who tweeted it to Rihanna.

With both women saying they were up for it, twitter went wild and brought Ava DuVernay, director of Selma, into the fray. Ava and Insecure creator Issa Rae both threw their hat into the ring which just fueled the flames.

As much as all of this may have been a joke. Codeblack Films took it as seriously as Twitter did and tweeted N’yongo asking if she was serious.
