LV may have taken Supreme for $500 Million

The recent collaboration between Supreme and Louis Vuitton is taking off. Off the back of that, High Snobiety have just revealed that Louis Vuitton may have bought out Supreme. Supreme has been owned by James Jebbia since he founded the brand in 1994 but that may be about to change.

The news comes off the back of Brand Director Angelo Baque announcing he would leave the label yesterday. Whatever’s happening, a lot seems to be changing for Supreme. If they have been bought out, even for half a billion, it’ll be pretty weird considering the brand’s long history of standing against the establishment. You’d still have to be pretty serious about what you’re doing to turn down $500 million.

Supreme would be joining the likes of Givenchy, Dior and KENZO which are all signed to Louis Vuitton. What the buy out would mean for Supreme is up in the air. Supreme’s always had exclusivity as a big part of its appeal. Going from 10 stores to Vuitton’s 3,708 may reduce that.

We’ll keep you updated if the rumors are confirmed.
