The march delivered on its promises with diverse artists and speakers
This weekend’s Women’s March has become one of the biggest movements around the world in a very short amount of time. With concurrent marches all around the globe the message has been clear everywhere. At its clearest was in Washington where one of the biggest parts of the movement was.
The march became a common cause for many different issues. As well as speaking out about women’s rights, Alicia Keys was joined by the mothers of Eric Garner, Mohamed Bah, Dontre Hamilton, Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis. In her performance of Hell You Talmbout she named Janisha Fonville and Sandra Bland, both of whom were killed in prison.
Maxwell’s performance of This Woman’s Work by Kate Bush also got a huge reaction from the crowd.
