The trailer for T2: Trainspotting has arrived and it doesn’t disappoint.
Next year, the sequel to 1996’s cult classic Trainspotting will arrive to theaters. Officially titled T2: Trainspotting, the film features returning cast members, 20 years on from the events of the original.
The trailer for the film has been released and it looks just as good as the original. Paying tribute to the legendary “Choose life” monologue from the first film, the trailer gives it a modern update. Starting with a voiceover saying “Choose life, choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere cares.”
The clip then goes on to give us a short glimpse of each character as Renton returns to Edinburgh for the first time in twenty years. A variety of familiar faces make an appearance in the trailer, including Sick Boy, Begbie and Spud. Against the soundtrack of Underworld’s “Born Slippy,” there’s plenty of drugs, sex and violence in the trailer.
Based on Irvine Welsh’s Porno novel, T2 is directed by Academy Award winner Danny Boyle, who also directed Trainspotting.
T2: Trainspotting will hit theaters in the UK on January 27th of next year, and February 3rd in the US.
