Suge Knight has claimed Dr. Dre hired hitmen to kill him.
It’s well known the relationship between Suge Knight and Dr. Dre had it’s ups and downs, fueled mainly by Dre leaving Death Row Records because of Knight’s bad reputation. Now Suge has come out with a lawsuit against Dre, claiming their feud went as far as hiring hitmen.
According to TMZ, Suge is suing Dre for $300 million. The lawsuit claims the former Death Row Records executive was behind an incident in 2014 where Suge was shot seven times.
Referring to Dre by his real name, the lawsuit said “Andre Young is responsible for both crimes. It is a well-known fact that Young and Knight are not friends.”
Allegedly he L.A County Sheriff’s Department questioned a man named T-Money in relation to the shooting, who then told the police Dre paid him to kill Suge.
The lawsuit also claims Dre and Universal paid a man, Cle “Bone” Sloan, $300,000 to take care of Suge.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Knight’s lawyer, Thaddeus Culpepper, says this is the reason behind Knight’s hit and run where Sloan was injured and another man, Terry Carter was killed.
“The lawsuit gives the proper motivation or at least explains what happened to Suge in the past year and a half,” Culpepper said. “It sets the table for real discussion as to why he would just run people over. If the idea is that he was just a crazy man and ran some people because he’s Suge Knight, no, there was a reason and we think we set it out pretty well.”
Knight also says he’s entitled to 30% of Dre’s life earnings due to a lifetime management deal.
Dr. Dre’s lawyer addressed the lawsuit in a statement to TMZ. “Given that Dre has had zero interaction with Suge since leaving Death Row Records in 1996, we hope that Suge’s lawyer has lots of malicious prosecution insurance.
