Professional skateboarder and model Dylan Rieder has died.
Following complications from leukemia, Dylan Rieder has died at the age of 28. The professional skateboarder and model was surrounded by friends and family at the time of his death.
His manager posted on Jenkem’s Facebook page to inform fans of his passing. “Today, October 12th 216, surrounded by family and friends, Dylan Joseph Rieder passed away due to complications with Leukaemia.” he wrote. “His passion for life, art, music, fashion and skateboarding has always been contagious. Dylan will be remembered by all as a loving son, brother and friend.”
Rieder was a well known skater, who found fame when he was 18 and went pro for Alien Workshop. His skills caught the attention of many, resulting in him being sponsored by the likes of Supreme, HUF and more. During this time he appeared in multiple skateboard films and videos, which was what made him most recognizable among the young generation of aspiring skateboarders.
In addition to his successful career in skateboarding, Dylan Rieder was also a model. Back in 2014 he appeared alongside Cara Delevingne in an ad campaign for DKNY.
Delevingne was among the many public figures and fans who posted emotional tributes to the late skateboarding legend. She posted a picture of them together on her Instagram along with a heartfelt message.
