James Corden’s ‘Drop The Mic’ will become a standalone series.
We’ve seen the likes of Kevin Hart, Cara Delevingne and more on James Corden’s ‘Drop The Mic’. Now the popular segment is set to become its own series, with Corden serving as producer.
TBS announced yesterday 16 episodes of the spin-off series have been ordered. Along with Corden, Late Late Show producer Ben Winston will also work as a producer.
“James Corden and Ben Winston have struck a nerve with their celebrity-driven, music-infused, incredibly fun content.”
“This series embodies the kind of unique and surprising programming we are looking for as we reinvent our approach to this genre within the new TBS brand.”TBS’s Michael Bloom said in a statement.
“Drop The Mic is such an exciting show, and we can’t wait to begin making it. Every time we have done this segment on The Late Late Show, it has become a massive viral moment. Now with TBS as our perfect partner, we hope to create some really memorable television.” Bloom added.
Stay tuned for the new series expected to release early next year.
